Since her debut in 2014 with the Orquestra de València and Pascual Balaguer performing Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 23 in her hometown of València, Mar Valor has established a varied career as both a soloist and a chamber musician. Her solo appearances include concerti by Mozart, Beethoven, Grieg, Chopin and Liszt with orchestras such as Sinfonieorchester Basel, Orquestra de Valencia, Ruhrstadt Orchester conducted by maestros like Cristobal Soler, Roland Kluttig, Vicente Gabarda, Pascual Balaguer, ...

She regularly performs across Europe in prestigious venues such as Wigmore Hall, Stadtcasino Basel, Auditorio Nacional de Madrid, Palau de la Música Valencia, Teatros del Canal Madrid, Palau de les Arts València, Schloss Namedy or Bad Iburg. Beyond Europe, her artistry has also led her to perform in the United States and Russia. She is also invited to perform at distinguished festivals such as Euregio Musik Festival, Tübingen Pianists Festival, Cambra al Palau, Rhein Klassik, Whittington Chamber Music Festival, Festival d'Estiu de Torreblanca, Schaffhausen Klassik, and the Swiss Chamber Music Festival.

A passionate and active chamber musician since her early days, Mar continues to explore and perform a wide range of chamber music and lied repertoire, as well as being a member of Trio Archai (Basel) and ALMA Trio (Cologne).

She is the recipient of over 30 international awards and prizes including 1st prize at the 72nd Royal Overseas League with Trio Archai (2024), 3rd prize at the Orpheus Swiss Chamber Music Competition (2023), Stiftung LYRA Award (2022), Dörken-Stiftung’s Concert Scheme Award (2022) and several first prizes at the German competition "Jugend Musiziert” (2018, 2017, 2015 and 2014).

Born in Valencia in 2000, Mar received her piano training at the José Iturbi Conservatory under Juan Lago. She then continued her studies with Ana Guijarro for two years before moving to Cologne in 2018, where she completed her Bachelor of Music with honors at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln, studying with Claudio Martínez-Mehner. Following her successful completion of her Master's in Musical Performance at the Musik-Akademie Basel with Zoltán Fejérvári in the summer of 2024, she is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Music Pedagogy at the same institution.

Over the years, she has received valuable artistic guidance from esteemed artists such as Andreas Staier, Alexander Melnikov, Patricia Kopatchinskaja, Alexander Lonquich, Robert McDonald, Dénes Várjon, José Ramón Méndez, Nina Tichman, Eugen Indjic or Josu de Solaun. Her chamber music mentors include Anthony Spiri, Anton Kernjak, and Rainer Schmidt.

Mar is grateful to have been a DAAD scholarship holder throughout her bachelor studies and for the support from the MusikAkademie Basel, as well as the DOMS, Werner-Richard, Lang Lang International Music Foundation, Hortensia Herrero, The Juilliard School and Conza foundations. 

Alongside developing her artistic and academic career, Mar thoroughly enjoys teaching, offering private lessons and serving as a teacher at ICMS Basel since January 2024.
